We are seeking an experienced telecommunications transmission engineer to serve as a part-time consultant to help inform our clients’ business strategies and investment opportunities in the developing world. Responsibilities include providing expert analysis of regional best practices, network and infrastructure standards and industry norms to inform our clients’ business strategies and investment opportunities in the developing world. This is a remote position that requires some travel.
Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ current work experience in the telecommunication industry, with an engineering degree and strong communication skills. The candidate should have prior experience in cellular based networks to include Base Terminal Station (BTS)/Base Station Controller (BSC), Mobile Switching Center (MSC), virtual cell system, GSM/LTE backhaul networks, as well as network testing, maintenance, and monitoring. Understanding of cell system design, architecture, capacity planning is a plus. The candidate should have knowledge and use of Network Management application and the Operational Support System (OSS) that supports the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the cellular network.
